Touchless sensor faucets are slowly but surely taking over the world — yet not all sensors are created equal. Compared to infrared sensors, PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) is a superior sensor technology that ensures HANSA touchless faucets work as precisely as possible.  Here’s a quick comparison of PSD vs infrared sensors and how they work:   ### Infrared sensors With infrared sensors, detection is based on reflected light intensity. When the target reflects enough light back to the receiver the faucet is activated.  The drawback with infrared is that variations in skin colour, clothing, light and reflections can cause an imprecise reaction to hand movements.
